Royal Yacht Britannia

On Monday, we had a quick day of sightseeing in Edinburgh before catching a flight to Paris. We started in the morning at the Royal Yacht Britannia, which served Queen Elizabeth as a palace on the sea for decades. In the afternoon, we checked out the Edinburgh Castle, which I've blogged about previously. The yacht was more interesting than I thought it'd be. The concept of a monarchy is still a little bizarre to me...but it was impressive to see the ship.

I doubt this life saver was ever used. But it's pretty.

Gotta have room for the Rolls on board...

Some fancy old sailing thingy.
