Performance art at the Centre Pompidou

One of my favorite moments in Paris was sitting outside of the Centre Pompideau, watching a street performer speed paint a portrait of Barack Obama upside down, while Obama's famous campaign speech on race blared in the background. A crowd of a couple hundred Parisians and tourists sat transfixed in silence for 5-10 minutes...it was an amazing moment. The election of this President is such an inspiration to people all over the world - it's remarkable. I tried to get some video but my memory card was near full, so I just got a couple of very brief snippets.

In progress.

The finished product.
